The Folly Booth
A riverside hub where art, community, and conservation
flow together – reviving Twickenham's folly spirit.
Once the ticket booth for the old Twickenham Ferry – a crossing that carried passengers over the Thames for more than three centuries – The Folly Booth stood as a quiet reminder of the river’s past. In 2025, it was lovingly restored by Bob Hinks in collaboration with the T.W.A.T.S. (Thames Waterbugs Action Team Society) and transformed into a riverside hub for creativity, community, and conservation.
Today, The Folly Booth comes alive as a small community space for big ideas — hosting art projects, workshops, and local initiatives that celebrate and protect the rich biodiversity of our river.
A tribute to The Folly — the legendary floating tavern and music barge that once filled these waters with laughter and lantern light — this tiny booth now channels that same joyful energy into river restoration and community connection.
